In this part, I’m going to start with the second tablet, in which Thoth explains the bondages/chains that keep man in the dark.
He again starts with the metaphor that the Halls of Amenti lie deep beneath the Earth, in the Earth’s heart. It goes the same that our body is the Earth, and inside our body, you have the Halls of Amenti, which you can access whenever you want. The Earth is alive and has a soul (the light), just as we have a soul (the light), and everything converges in the higher dimensions, which are in the 'Halls of Amenti'.
He mentions the children of light, free from space-time, observing the children of man trapped in bondage/chains by the forces that came from beyond. In my opinion, this force is the Demiurge and the Archons. The children of light are the only ones who can help the children of man break free from the chains and reach the Sun from the Earth. That means to become enlightened and escape the trap or the cycle of forgetfulness.
The second tablet explains the creation of man by these forces from beyond. They created us in the image of Man, but unlike Man. It explains that they created, side by side, other spaces and filled them with life, building the Halls of Amenti so they can dwell in them forever. To me, this sounds like the explanation in the ancient Gnostic texts where the Demiurge tries to essentially copy God and recreate for himself all realms that were created by God. So essentially, we were created as a copy of the man created by God.
The tablet says that there are 32 children of light. The closest thing that comes to my mind is the 33 gods in Hinduism: 12 Adityas, 11 Rudras, 8 Vasus, and 2 Ashvins in the Brahmanas. Maybe Thoth became the 33rd child of light. If Thoth really made the Emerald Tablets of Thoth, then perhaps he was still not a part of the 'children of light'.
Once again, the idea is reiterated that only the children of light can save humanity from the bonds of darkness. The first created bodies were filled with the spirit of life by the children of light. This corresponds also with the Gnostic stories that the Demiurge and his creations made man in the image of God, but man was lifeless until, by deception, the Demiurge was fooled into breathing the spirit of Sophia into the body, thus giving us the soul from the real god of creation.
The children of light, from time to time, incarnate in the bodies of humans, teaching them the path to enlightenment. Indeed, this concept is present in many religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, Zoroastrianism, etc. Did you know that, except for Jesus, who promised to return for the Apocalypse, in Hinduism, Vishnu will return as Kalki to end the Kali Yuga, and Saoshyant will return for the Zoroastrian Apocalypse called Frashokereti?
Now, here's the process of enlightenment described briefly: 'Those who progress, emerging from darkness and lifting themselves from the night into the light, become liberated within the 'Halls of Amenti'. They will be unburdened by the Flower of Light and Life. Guided by wisdom and knowledge, they transition from the realm of humanity to the Master of Life.
With this thought, I will finish part 6, and in the next part, I will talk about the gatekeepers or those who keep us in the dark.
